FAQs

Everything you need to know about kitchen range hoods:

There are multiple types of range hoods; the two common shapes are pyramidal and flat, but there are also decorative shapes.
In addition to helping purify the kitchen, a decorative range hood also gives the kitchen an aesthetic look and enhances its decor.

– The first type we have is the (pyramid/decorative) hood: This type of hood is installed if the space above the stove is empty; it looks better than the flat type.
– The second type is the flat hood: This is used if there is a kitchen unit/cabinet above the stove, and it is installed directly under the upper cabinet above the stove.

Note: A flat hood can also be installed if the space above the stove is empty (depending on your preference), but it is not the best in terms of appearance.

- The hood is electric.
- The hood has 3 speeds, controlled by switches located on the hood.
- The hood has powerful LED lighting.

First, both pyramidal/decorative and flat range hoods can operate with external exhaust via a chimney or internal circulation with filters. The choice of method depends on the nature of the space.

What do "external exhaust via chimney" and "internal circulation with filters" mean?
- The first method, external exhaust via chimney: In this method, the range hood draws in cooking fumes through a small diameter chimney, and these fumes are directly expelled outside the house.

- The second method... does not have a chimney and is used when it's not possible to make an opening in the wall. In this case, the range hood purifies the air contaminated with fumes and vapors and returns it clean to the kitchen through internal carbon filters.

Two notes:
- The mentioned diameter chimney... is a flexible hose for easy movement in any direction, and the chimney is circular with a diameter of 12.5 cm (5 inches).
- The chimney requires a small opening (5 inches) in the nearest wall to the stove that faces a street or an air shaft, or the opening of a standard small exhaust fan can be used if available.

Hoods (pyramid/decorative) and flat ones have internal carbon filters and external aluminum filters.
- Carbon filters are responsible for trapping smoke and vapors, and they are installed when the hood is operated in internal recirculation mode. If the hood is operating in external extraction mode with a duct, carbon filters are not installed in the hood.
- Aluminum filters are responsible for trapping oils and remain in the hood whether it's operating in external extraction or internal recirculation mode.

Notes:
- Carbon filters are changed approximately every 8 months or more, depending on usage.
- External aluminum filters should be washed regularly when oils accumulate on them. They are washed with hot water, and they typically last two years or more before needing replacement.
- Both internal and external filters are easy to remove and install.

Suction power is usually similar among range hoods, and the quality of the hood itself is more important than its suction power.
Generally, if your kitchen is large, especially if it's open to the living room, then you'll need a range hood with high suction power, such as 750 CFM and above for a (pyramid/decorative) hood, and 500 CFM and above for a flat hood.

Note: If your kitchen is small, a lower suction power will naturally suit it, and a higher suction power (does no harm).

The common sizes for range hoods are 60 cm and 90 cm, with the exception of certain types that offer an 80 cm size.

Choosing the right size depends on the stove's size. For example, if the stove has 5 burners, an 80 or 90 cm hood would be suitable. If the stove has 4 burners, a 60 cm hood would be appropriate, whether it's a flat or pyramid-style hood.

The extractor fan will be installed on the window, but you won't be able to use the window. It's better to get a pyramid-shaped extractor fan because its suction power is higher, and it will also look better than a flat one.

Note: If the window is a sliding window and the extractor fan is installed, it may operate normally.

Delivery: Through us, and it takes 3 to 5 business days.
Installation: Through the hood manufacturer, and it is done days after delivery, with a fee for the technician, or by the customer (depending on the customer's preference).
Warranty: The warranty is activated from the time of hood installation, whether the hood is installed by the customer or the company.

  • No, you cannot use it as a countertop model, as the oven must be built into a cabinet because the sides are exposed without any panels. Therefore, the exposed sides of the oven will be very hot when in use.
  • Yes, the oven must be preheated because cooking in an oven uses heating elements to heat the air inside the oven cavity, cooking food from the outside in. The temperature to set depends on the chosen recipes.
  • The indicator light above the temperature selector will turn on, and once the temperature is reached, the indicator light will turn off. This means you can place food in the oven for cooking.
  • Convection ovens cook food by convection, which means it takes some time for your food to cook. A microwave oven heats food by passing microwave radiation through it, and these waves help cook the food from the outside surface, taking less time to cook.

Ovens with pyrolytic or catalytic cleaning mean that these ovens have a self-cleaning feature. The user will not have to clean the oven themselves. In pyrolytic cleaning, the oven heats up to over 500°C, burning off all stains in the oven cavity and turning them into ash. This means the user only needs to wipe away the ash after the oven cools down. In a catalytic oven, you will have two panels that you need to install on the sides of the oven cavity. During catalytic cleaning, the oven will be heated to the maximum temperature on the control knob, and stains on the panels (right and left) of the oven cavity will be burned off and turn into ash, but stains on the top and bottom must be cleaned manually. Therefore, a superior cleaning result can be achieved through pyrolytic cleaning versus a catalytic cleaning oven.
